Hannibal Mejbri participated in his first World Cup this fall in Qatar with the Tunisian national team. Before that, Mejbri had been called up to the Tunisian national team for the first time in May 2021. Although he had made a notable contribution to the France U16 and U17 teams, he ultimately made the decision to continue his international career with the nation of his parents’ birth.
He earned his first cap on June 5, 2021 in a match against the Democratic Republic of Congo and was selected for the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup shortly thereafter. During this tournament, Tunisia lost in the final but Mejbri shone by providing an assist in the first match of the tournament and being named man of the match against the United Arab Emirates.
On November 14, 2022, he was selected by Jalel Kadri to participate in the 2022 World Cup. He made his World Cup debut in the final minutes of the match against Denmark.
This was a great experience for Mejbri in this World Cup, where the Carthage Eagles did not fare well with a draw, a loss, and a symbolic victory against the reigning world champion France.
